Well, that’s the last time for the foreseeable future that we’ll be tipping Manchester United on this website. For the second time this season they have crashed our free football tips, this time by drawing 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace.
Our last loss was also suffered at the hands of Mourinho’s United. This was when they drew 1-1 at home to Wolves, all the way back in September. The last time I tipped them!
Never the less, we are still over 40 points up for the season. So hopefully next week we can get back to winning ways, and break the 50 points mark.
I’m always a bit sceptical about tipping in the immediate match after an international break, and so it proved today.
From reading the reports, and listening to the live updates during the match, it appears to have been another lack lustre performance from United. The sort that seem to have become all too frequent under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.
5 out of our 7 predictions won. Watford V Liverpool, West Ham V Man City, Tottenham V Chelsea, Mainz V Borussia Dortmund, and PSV V Heerenveen, all won. It was just Juventus V Spal (2-0), and PSG V Toulouse (1-0), that let us down.
I suppose PSG not having Neymar or Mbappe was never going to help, but you would imagine a front 3 of Cavani, Draxler and Di Maria, might have been sufficient and hungry enough to get the required 3 goals.
The other side to let us down, Juventus, only managed a 2-0 win over mid table Spal. Remarkably, the Grand Old Lady only had 45% of the possession. Very unlike the Italian champions.
Maybe next weekend we will look at a smaller over 2.5 goals accumulator. With 7 selections, there is always the chance that one or two teams will let you down. Maybe we need to start looking at 4 or 5 team accumulators.
I also did try out an over 3.5 goals trixie bet today. The beauty of that bet is that due to the fact that all odds are greater than even money, you only need 2 of the 3 bets to come in to make a small profit. While if all 3 bets come in, it will represent a nice profit.
