Another Five for City as Title Edges Closer

They may have defenders dropping like skittles, but when you score five every week, does it really matter who plays at the back?

Yes, Manchester City sent an emphatic message back to Liverpool on Wednesday night with their five goal demolition of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kevin De Bruyne was the main architect of Wolves’ demise, scoring City’s first four goals in a ruthless display. Raheem Sterling scored the fifth for Pep’s team.

The Premier League match highlights below show just how devastating De Bruyne was.

Wolves vs Man City Match Highlights 11th May 2022

Wolves were just hit by a tidal wave in the first half. They had already been given a warning when De Bruyne gave City the lead after 7 minutes. But they couldn’t have imagined what was coming next after Leander Dendoncker almost instantly equalised after 11 minutes.

After 24 minutes, De Bruyne already had his hat-trick. He added another to his collection after 60 minutes. And Sterling eventually got himself on the scoresheet after 84 minutes. It was brutal stuff from City.

Surely the only thing left that can possibly derail the Cityzens, is their visit to the London Stadium to take on West Ham this Sunday. It's far harder to see them slipping up at home to Aston Villa on the final day of the season.
