It's Der Klassiker in the Bundesliga today (7/11/20), and in my tips and prediction for Borussia Dortmund V Bayern Munich, I'm going with the Bayern philosophy and backing goals.
Borussia Dortmund V Bayern Munich Preview
The Bundesliga's top two teams lock horns in the first Der Klassiker of the season today, and be an interesting watch to see how
The two teams are only separated by goal difference. Both have 15 points from 6 matches, but Bayern have a superior +15 goal difference, to Dortmund's +11.
With there been little to separate these two so far this season, today's match will give us an interesting insight into how the rest of the Bundesliga season could pan out.
One are where there is undisputed clear daylight between these two teams is in the goals scored, and goals conceded columns.
- Munich - Scored 24 - Conceded 9 - Goal difference +15
- Dortmund - Scored 13 - Conceded 2 - Goal difference +11
These stats confirm just how open Bayern Munich are tactically, and perfectly highlights their 'you score 5, and we'll score 6' style of play.
This is the style of play that led Hansi Flick's side to the treble last season, and has been clearly continued this season.
Borussia Dortmund V Bayern Munich Odds
Despite being at home, Dortmund are the outsiders. Hardly surprising though, given Bayern's dominance of world football, never mind Germany.
For Munich backers, how often do you see the German giants at Even money? Very rarely.
Over 2.5 Goals Betting
In over/under 2.5 goals betting, overs is just 2/5. In matches of this magnitude, sometimes teams can cancel each other out, so a word of caution if you're thinking of backing goals in this match.
Personally, I can't see that happening. Last season this fixture was a tight affair with Munich winning it just 1-0. But it was very late on in the season, and it was a match that Dortmund had to win to give themselves an outside chance of catching Munich.
The stakes were much higher that day, meaning it was a far more tense match than I expect today's to be.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bayern attempt to lay down a marker instead today. And I expect this fixture will probably be more like the 3-2 we seen in the Supercup (highlights below) at the end of September.
Anytime Goalscorer Betting
In anytime goalscorer betting, two names dominate the landscape, the King, Robert Lewandowski, and the Heir to his Throne, Erling Haaland.
Lewandowski is just 4/7 to find the net at anytime, with Haaland at a much more value Evens.
Haaland fluffed his lines in this match last season. He wasted a couple of golden chances on the day, and the occasion may have got to him.
I don't see that happening again today, and at Evens, Haaland looks good value to find the net.
Borussia Dortmund V Bayern Munich Prediction 7/11/20
In a Same Game Multi, backing Haaland and Lewandowski to both find the net pays 3.64, that's better than 5/2. I think that is a decent shout.
Throw over 3.5 goals (Evens) into the equation, and that makes the bet up to 4.55. Just a touch above 7/2.
I wouldn't be against backing 3.5 goals at Evens on it's own, or throwing one or both of the strikers into the bet.
