We’re only four matches into the new season, and already the grumblings of discontent are getting louder from the West Ham faithful, after a disappointing start to the season.
West Ham currently sit bottom of the Premier League table with zero points, and if that’s not bad enough, manager Manuel Pellegrini has upset the fans even more by deciding to head off home to Chile – in a pre planned visit – during the current international break.
In fairness to the Chilean, he was the victim of a rather nasty armed robbery back in the summer, and for all we know, this might be the reason the club haven’t tried to stand in the way of this pre planned trip.
Never-the-less, football fans are a very unforgiving bunch, and even if Pellegrini does retain the backing of the board and owner, a quick look on the fans forums would suggest he certainly doesn’t retain the backing of some of the fans.
This has also not been lost on the bookmakers, who now have the Chilean vying for favouritism in the sack race betting, alongside Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho.
Some layers have both men as 3/1 joint favourites, with some pricing Jose up just in front, also at 3/1, but with Pellegrini at 7/2.
4 matches in the Premier League is nothing these days, just ask Crystal Palace and Frank de Boer, who was sacked by Crystal Palace at this stage last season.
