Arsenal end Man Utd’s Champions League hopes with 3-1 Victory

Arsenal's 3-1 win over Man Utd has left Manchester United needing a miracle to make the top 4 and next season's Champions League.

The defeat leaves United 6 points adrift of Arsenal, having played one game more. And 3 points behind Spurs, who have two games in hand; the first of which away to Brentford later today.

Referee, Craig Pawson's performance will no doubt come under scrutiny, but in all honesty, United were again responsible in the main for their own downfall.

The penalty miss from Bruno Fernandes when the score was 2-1, was the key moment of the match. With Ronaldo watching on, Bruno Fernandes could only strike the post with the spot kick awarded due to a blatent handball by Nuno Tavares.

United were on top at the time, and did continue to press for the equaliser, with Diogo Dalot striking the post shortly afterwards. The match was effectively ended as a contest in the 70th minute though, when Granit Xhaka impressively fired in from 25 yards.

There was a slight debate about whether De Gea's view was blocked by the off-side Eddie Nketiah, but ultimately VAR decided not to get involved and Xhaka's goal stood.

Things don't get much easier for United, they host Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday in their next fixture. As for the Gunners, they visit the London Stadium to take on West Ham next Sunday.

In the latest Premier League betting to finish in the top 4, Man Utd are out to a huge 200/1. Full odds are:-
