Former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou returns to face his old rivals Arsenal at the Emirates in the opening match of the Premier League weekend.
Postecoglou was appointed new Nottingham Forest boss in midweek after the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo brought the latest City Ground soap opera to an end.
It’s not an appointment that smacks of joined up thinking. Postecoglou is the polar opposite of Nuno, and it will be interesting to see how this marriage plays out over the next few weeks.
Forest will come into the match off the back of a 3-0 home defeat to West Ham, a team that until Matchday 3, looked like the worst in the Premier League.
Arsenal have been far from convincing as well. They began with a hard fought 1-0 win away at Manchester United and they did hammer a poor Leeds team 5-0 at the Emirates in their first home match of the season.
However, the Gunners then sat back and played an odd game in their 1-0 defeat away to Premier League title rivals Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta came under fire for his team’s negative tactics.
However, a Forest team that is low on confidence and likely to change tactics under Postecoglu, could be the ideal team for Gunners to get back on track against.
