Premier League Matchday 26 Predictions, Betting Tips and Expert Picks

Matchday 26 of the Premier League serves up a full midweek feast, with all ten fixtures crammed into three nights. Four games kick things off on Tuesday, five follow on Wednesday, and the round wraps up with leaders Arsenal facing Brentford in Thursday’s solitary match.

We went agonisingly close to landing a 10/1 acca on Matchday 25, with just one Spurs goal standing between us and the perfect card. Tottenham skipper Cristian Romero certainly didn’t do us any favours either, seeing red after just 29 minutes, effectively ending any chance of a win for the visitors.

This week’s four-match acca pays just over 9/1 with William Hill. A £10 stake would return £103.57 if successful, and there’s also the option to place these selections as a Yankee or a Lucky 15.

Spurs vs Newcastle - Over 2.5 Goals and BTTS (10/11)

Spurs tucked us up on Saturday. Or more to the point, Cristian Romero did. However, we are sticking with them, and also sticking with the same bet.

The bottom line is both Tottenham and Newcastle are in stinking rotten form, making it near impossible to predict the winner. This has 2-1 to either team, or even 2-2, written all over it.

Don’t forget, the two teams shared four goals in the reverse fixture.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score

West Ham vs Man Utd - Man Utd to score over 1.5 goals (11/20)

West Ham secured their third win in four matches with a 2-0 win over Championship-bound Burnley on Saturday.

Goals from Crysencio Summerville and Taty Castellanos gave the Hammers the win that moved them to within three points of fourth-from-bottom Nottingham Forest to just three points.

Manchester United have been in even better form than the hosts. The Red Devils beat Spurs 2-0 at Old Trafford, giving Michael Carrick his fourth win in a row since taking over from Ruben Amorim.

It is tempting to back Carrick’s team to make it five in a row. However, given West Ham’s improved form, we are backing the Red Devils to score two in the match.

This covers us if West Ham manage to turn the match into a high-scoring draw.

Tip: Man Utd to score over 1.5 goals

Man City vs Fulham - Man City -1 to win on the handicap (1/1)

We’re not sure how, but Manchester City somehow found a way to get out of jail and leave Anfield with a 2-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday. The three points just about kept them in the title race.

The win was a massive confidence boost, and it could well be the catalyst for an improved run from the Cityzens.

Fulham suffered their second successive defeat at the weekend, slipping to a 2-1 defeat at home to Everton.

The Cottagers were 1-0 up and in control, but for some reason eased off in the second half and were punished by the Toffees.

We don’t expect a repeat of the nine-goal thriller the two teams played out when these two met at the beginning of the season. But we do expect another win for City.

Of their nine Premier League wins at the Etihad this season, City have won eight of them by two or more goals. We are backing them to do the same to Marco Silva’s team.

Tip: Man City -1 to win on the handicap

Brentford vs Arsenal - Arsenal to score over 1.5 goals (3/4)

Both teams have won their last two in the Premier League. Brentford have recorded back-to-back wins away at Aston Villa (1-0) and Newcastle United (3-2).

The victory over Villa was achieved by playing the majority of the match with ten men after Kevin Schade  saw red in the first half.

Arsenal have won four matches in a row in all competitions, with the last three all with clean sheets. A 3-2 Champions League win over Kairot got the ball rolling.

That was followed by a 4-0 win over Leeds in the Premier League, a 1-0 win over Chelsea in EFL Cup and last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Sunderland in the league.

We expect the Gunners to win. But given Brentford’s recent strong form, we are going with Arsenal to score twice, at slightly better odds on an away win.

Tip: Arsenal to score over 1.5 goals
