For England, their pragmatic approach did draw criticism in the group stages. And had they lost to Germany in the Round of 16, Gareth Southgate would have been savaged by the English media. The team came through that test though, and Southgate's tactics have proven to be right all along.

As I alluded to in the intro, I believe these two teams have been the best two sides at Euro 2020. Italy made light work of their group. They then had the major hurdles of Belgium and Spain to overcome in their quarter and semi-finals respectively, which they did so.
In their last eight match with Belgium, the Italians were the better side and thoroughly deserved their win.
The same can't really be said for their semi-final win over Spain though. I thought the Spanish were the better team and probably deserved to win the match.
But Spain didn't take their chances, and the Italian tournament mentality kicked in, and that mental toughness got Roberto Mancini's team over the line.
For England, they've conceded just one goal in their six matches at Euro 2020. A run which includes a 2-0 win over Germany in the Round of 16.
In their quarter-final against Ukraine, the English were expected to win, the same has to be said for the semi-final against Denmark as well.
But over the course of the competition, England have been rock solid in defence. In six matches, just one goal conceded, and ten goals scored.
In the group stages, just two goals were scored. But in the knock out stages, they've scored eight goals.
Betting Tips
It looks like a tight match that is just simply too close to call. Either side could win, but if it goes deep and too penalties, I think I would fancy Italy more.
The Italians will probably look to take it deep, and England will probably stick to their 'Plan A' of keeping things tight, and hoping one of the many flair players can sneak a goal.
If nothing else, the match looks set to be a tight affair, so with this in mind I think the bet has to be Under 2.5 Goals at 1/2 (1.50),
