Scott McTominay gave Steve Clarke’s team the lead with a deflected shot after 13 minutes.
But Scotland couldn't hold onto the lead for long. Xherdan Shaqiri fired home an unstoppable equaliser after 26 minutes after latching on to a misplaced backpass from Anthony Ralston.
The 1-1 draw leaves Scotland third in the group with one point. A win over Hungary in their final game on Sunday should see them qualify for the Round of 16.
