Robert Lewandowski has again stated his desire to leave Bayern Munich, and despite a jokey intervention from his national manager suggesting he moves to Liverpool, Barcelona remain the odds-on favourite to be his next destination.
The striker was speaking ahead of Poland's Nations League game against Wales on Wednesday. Sitting next to his national boss, Czeslaw Michniewicz, Lewandowski said; "What we know for sure at the moment is that my era in Bayern Munich is over."
Lewandowski originally informed Bayern of his intention to leave earlier in the month.
It's inevitable these days that when a player of Lewandowski's calibre is available, English clubs will be linked. And that's exactly what has happened.
In the past couple of days moves to Chelsea and even Manchester United have been mentioned.
Despite all the media speculation around the English clubs, Barcelona are still massive favourites with the bookmakers. The Catalan side are just 1/3 with Betfair to complete the signing before 3rd September 2022.
Elsewhere, second favourite to sign the 33-year-old Pole, is PSG. The French champions are 5/1. Chelsea are next at 10/1. Then it's a load more Premier League clubs.
