Remarkable Scenes At Goodison Park as Everton Ensure Premier League Survival

Everton have finally done it, they're safe in the Premier League for another season.

But boy, did they make hard work of it. At 2-0 down after 36 minutes, the Everton faithful must have feared the worst.

False dawns have already been and gone in the past few days, and the fans must have thought this was yet another one.

Goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew ensured Palace went in at the break 2-0 up.

But a second half fightback rescued the Toffees. Michael Keane started the comeback, blasting a shot past Jack Butland after 54 minutes. Then on 75 minutes, Richarlison - probably the main reason Everton is staying up - fired home the equaliser.

The best was yet to come though. On 85 minutes the comeback was complete as Dominic Calvert-Lewin buried a header past Butland, and sent Goodison Park into raptures not seen in years. It was remarkable stuff.

Burnley Draw leaves Leeds in Big Trouble

Elsewhere in the Premier League on Thursday night, Burnley got a valuable point away to Aston Villa. The 1-1 draw sees Mike Jackson’s team climb out of the bottom three - above Leeds - on goal difference.

The final relegation spot is between these two teams now, and it’s the Clarets who have their destiny in their own hands.

Burnley are at home to Newcastle, while Leeds are away to Brentford. If Burnley win, they stay up. Simple as that.

The two sides both sit on 35 points. But Leeds’ goal difference is -38, while Burnley’s is -18.

Latest Premier League Relegation Betting

In the latest Premier League betting, the bookmakers seem to think it Leeds who are in the biggest danger of the drop.

Jesse Marsch's team are odds on favourites to return to the Championship after two seasons in the top flight.
