Man City Quadruple Still On

Manchester City made fairly light work of seeing off Chelsea in tonight’s FA Cup 5th round, and in doing so they keep their hopes alive of completing the quadruple.

The odds on a Man City quadruple are still fairly long, they are a best price of 40/1 with BetVictor, Coral and Ladbrokes (£50 Free Bet Available.

The Champions League still looks the hardest one for City, they have the 1st leg against Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium this week, and they look set to be without Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho for both legs of the tie.

It’s one thing been without both of them in a domestic cup or league match, but when you are up against the elite of Europe, you need to have as many of your big match players available as possible.

They are the players that make the difference at the elite level, and in Aguero (in particular) they have an elite player who would probably get into any side in the world.

The domestic treble is now getting ridiculously short for City. 5/1 with Paddy Power (£50 Free Bet Available) is the best price you can now get on City winning the Capital One Cup, FA Cup, and Premier League. Some bookmakers are even shorter, with Skybet only offering 7/2 on Man City completing the domestic treble.

They are up against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup, and one of Arsenal or Liverpool will be exiting the FA Cup tomorrow, leaving that competition fairly open for them.

City are outright favourites at a best price of 6/4 with Totepool to win the FA Cup.

Chelsea – New Premier League Favourites

The ‘little horse’ in the race to be Premier League champions find themselves as the new favourites after the shock results for Arsenal and Manchester City on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s side are now outright favourites at a best price of 5/4 with Coral (who have a £50.00 Free Bet for new customers), and most online bookmakers.

I know that on paper Chelsea had what looked a relatively easy fixture at home to Newcastle, but those are the sort of matches I can see Chelsea potentially struggling in.

Chelsea are tactically great at setting up to get a result in a big match, but when it comes to breaking down a team who are intent on defending and hoping to nick a point, I don’t think they are at their most comfortable.

I believe this is mainly down to Chelsea not having a top notch striker, and is why I kind of see what Mourinho is saying when he talks about building towards next season.

I know there is an element of mind games in there (with regard to this year’s league), but I generally do believe he is building towards next year.

People are now also starting to whisper about the Chelsea treble. For Chelsea to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup, you can now get 100/1 with BetVictor (£25.00 Free Bet for new customers).

Onto City and Arsenal, and who seen that result coming at Anfield yesterday? I certainly didn’t, and with a run of games coming up that will define Arsenal’s season, they didn’t need to start off with a thrashing like that.

Liverpool are now 14/1 to win the Premier League with Paddy Power after their thrashing of Arsenal on Saturday.

I don’t think too many people fancied Norwich to get anything out of their match against Manchester City either. The worrying aspect for City fans must be the fact they haven’t scored in two matches now, and with Barcelona on the horizon, it is not a good time to be running out of form. They need Sergio Aguero back as soon as possible.

City are now out to 2nd favourites, they are a best price of 11/8, while Arsenal are now out to 7/1, both with Coral.

The City quadruple odds are now out to a best price of 66/1 with BetVictor.

Man City 50/1 For Quadruple With Skybet

Chelsea’s 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium tonight ended Manchester City’s magnificent run of eleven straight home wins this season, and it has also seen City’s odds drifting back out in both the Premier League betting, and the quadruple betting.

After been around 4/6 to win the Premier League prior to this weekend’s fixtures, City now find themselves back out at Even money with Bet365 to win the title.

They are only 2 points behind leaders Arsenal, but more importantly they are now level with Chelsea, who have now shown that they are serious title contenders this season, and not just building towards next season.

With regard to the quadruple, the 100/1 that was available with Betfred a few weeks ago is now long gone. The price had been getting shorter and shorter as City marched on, but after tonight’s set back, the best price on City winning the quadruple now is 50/1 with Skybet (£30.00 Free Bet available to new customers).

The next best prices on the City quadruple is 40/1 with BetVictor and Coral.

Prior to tonight, the biggest stumbling block to the quadruple seemed to be Barcelona in the Champions League, and their form has been a bit dodgy of late, their most recent slip up seen them losing 3-2 at home to Valencia last weekend. Now City seem to have just as bigger threat at home.

Funnily enough, despite finishing the weekend in top spot, Arsenal are still third favourite to win the title. The Gunners’s odds on winning the Premier League are still 9/2, the best price on Chelsea is now 21/10, both with Paddy Power (who are offering a £50 Free Bet to new customers).

There is now a 6 point gap between the top 3 and fourth place Liverpool, which might explain why you can get 25/1 with Bet365 on Liverpool winning the title.

It would be some achievement for Brendan Rodgers’ team to make up 6 points on City and Chelsea, and 8 on Arsenal with just the 14 league matches to go. Although he can never publicly admit it, Rodgers must surely now be focusing on finishing inside the top 4.

Manchester City 50/1 for the Quadruple

The quadruple is still on for Manchester City after Saturday’s scare at home to Watford, when they had to fight back from 2 goals down at half time, before completing a 4-2 win.

And with another round now safely negotiated, the odds for an unprecedented quadruple are now a best price of 50/1 with BetVictor, Skybet, and Ladbrokes (who are currently offering £50.00 to new sign ups).

Around 10 days ago, there was 100/1 available on the City quadruple, but with another round of the FA cup done, and a lot of punters showing an interest in a City clean sweep, the bookies have been forced to cut the odds.

Skybet are offering a £30.00 Free Bet to new customers, and BetVictor a £25.00 Free Bet to new customers. It might be worth using the free bet on the quadruple? As after all, it is a no lose bet on a long shot.

There is still a lot of hurdles for Pellegini’s team to get over yet if they are to complete the quadruple, including Barcelona, but from what I have seen of both City and Barca this season, City certainly have nothing to fear….. and that can be said of everyone.

City also know they have been competitive with both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid over the past two seasons, as well as getting well outplayed by them both at times. The point is though, that City know they can compete with Europe’s finest.

Onto the FA Cup, and what a couple of cracking ties to look forward to in the 5th round. Manchester City hosting Chelsea, and Arsenal V Liverpool, are obviously the two stand out fixtures, but on top of that we also have two other entertaining match ups in Everton V Swansea, and Sunderland V Southampton.

City are still the favourites to lift the trophy, despite drawing Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. The best price on City going one better than last season, and lifting the trophy, is 10/3 with Bet365 (£200 in free bets for new accounts) – you can get 3/1 with most other bookmakers.

Arsenal are 2nd favourites at 9/2 with Paddy Power (£50.00 free bet for new customers), and Everton are 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral.

Everton are the big mover in the betting, they are as short as 5/1 with most firms, they are clearly benefiting from the favourable draw, which sees the top 4 in the Premier League taking on each other. The matches are to be played over the weekend of 15th and 16th February.
