Watching tonight’s Carling Cup match between West Ham and Birmingham it wasn’t hard to see why both are in the bottom 7, with just 2 points between them.
It wasn’t great, was it?
Two badly struggling sides, who in fairness produced an entertaining match, if not a quality one. Birmingham were unlucky lose as they should have had a penalty for Upson’s shove on Barry Ferguson.
But if one moment summed the match and both team’s seasons up, it had to be Carlton Cole’s winner. What a joke. A total scuffed back pass of a shot from 12 yards or so, dribbling under Ben Foster’s body, it was laughable and shows why both clubs are where they are.
How many flukey goals has Carlton Cole been involved in now over the past few weeks ? He’s starting to become a lucky charm for West Ham.
