500/1 for an Arsenal Treble

For the last few weeks all the talk has been of the Manchester City quadruple, followed briefly by the Chelsea treble, well what about the Arsenal treble?

The odds on an Arsenal treble are a whopping 500/1 with BetVictor, and to be honest, rightly so. They have Bayern Munich in the next round of the Champions League, so most punters are fairly certain that the whole crazy idea will end there.

The Gunners are a best price of 62/17 with Unibet to qualify from the tie, with Bayern Munich a best price of 1/4 with Boylesports to make it through to the next round.

Bayern are the most solid looking team in Europe at the moment. They have a, won 19, drawn 2, lost 0, record in the Bundesliga, giving them a 16 point lead at the top. And true to form at the weekend, they won again, this time 4-0 at home to SC Freiburg, in a fairly easy workout.

Arsenal can only dream of such comfortable home luxuries, as they have struggled in their last two league games. This probably goes a long way to explaining why Arsenal are 40/1 to win the Champions League, while Bayern Munich are a best price of 13/5, both with Ladbrokes (Free £50 Bet).

A domestic double of Premier League and FA Cup is 33/1 with BetVictor, I must admit to being a bit surprised to see odds that long.

After all, Arsenal are only point off the top of the Premier League and into the 6th round of the FA Cup, where they will host Everton at the Emirates.

Maybe the most damning indictment from the bookmakers and punters alike for Arsenal, is the fact that they are a best price of 1/3 with Paddy Power to win absolutely nothing this season.

Since Arsenal hit the top of the Premier League earlier in the season, bookmakers and punters have been seemingly waiting for it all to go wrong, and for Arsenal to start their spectacular fall from grace.

Well it appears that nothing has changed.

Manchester City 50/1 for the Quadruple

The quadruple is still on for Manchester City after Saturday’s scare at home to Watford, when they had to fight back from 2 goals down at half time, before completing a 4-2 win.

And with another round now safely negotiated, the odds for an unprecedented quadruple are now a best price of 50/1 with BetVictor, Skybet, and Ladbrokes (who are currently offering £50.00 to new sign ups).

Around 10 days ago, there was 100/1 available on the City quadruple, but with another round of the FA cup done, and a lot of punters showing an interest in a City clean sweep, the bookies have been forced to cut the odds.

Skybet are offering a £30.00 Free Bet to new customers, and BetVictor a £25.00 Free Bet to new customers. It might be worth using the free bet on the quadruple? As after all, it is a no lose bet on a long shot.

There is still a lot of hurdles for Pellegini’s team to get over yet if they are to complete the quadruple, including Barcelona, but from what I have seen of both City and Barca this season, City certainly have nothing to fear….. and that can be said of everyone.

City also know they have been competitive with both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid over the past two seasons, as well as getting well outplayed by them both at times. The point is though, that City know they can compete with Europe’s finest.

Onto the FA Cup, and what a couple of cracking ties to look forward to in the 5th round. Manchester City hosting Chelsea, and Arsenal V Liverpool, are obviously the two stand out fixtures, but on top of that we also have two other entertaining match ups in Everton V Swansea, and Sunderland V Southampton.

City are still the favourites to lift the trophy, despite drawing Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. The best price on City going one better than last season, and lifting the trophy, is 10/3 with Bet365 (£200 in free bets for new accounts) – you can get 3/1 with most other bookmakers.

Arsenal are 2nd favourites at 9/2 with Paddy Power (£50.00 free bet for new customers), and Everton are 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral.

Everton are the big mover in the betting, they are as short as 5/1 with most firms, they are clearly benefiting from the favourable draw, which sees the top 4 in the Premier League taking on each other. The matches are to be played over the weekend of 15th and 16th February.
