Brazil are the defending champions, and are looking to win the Copa America for the sixth time in the last ten competitions. They are pretty much at full strength with the likes of Ederson, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Fred, Neymar, etc all available.
For Argentina, a win here would put them joint equal with Uruguay on 15 Copa America titles. They have the likes of Angel di Maria, Leandro Paredes, Sergio Aguero and of course Messi all available. But therein lies part of the problem for Argentina, their aging squad.
Could aging legs be a factor? They probably could be. But then these matches can be played a very sedate pace, and with no fans at the match, there will be no noise from a bating crowd driving the home side on.
I was shocked to see that Messi has never won the Copa America, and even more shocked to see Neymar hasn't either. In fact neither of these players have won a major international trophy apart from the Olympics.
But at the age of 34, and with the next Copa America not until 2024, is this Messi's last chance?
