Arsenal took advantage of the reduced Premier League programme this week to further consolidate their position at the top of the table with a 4-1 win over managerless Crystal Palace.
Goals from Martinelli, Saka (2), and Xhaka were too much for the Eagles, who did briefly threaten a fightback when Jeffrey Schlupp scored after 63 minutes to reduce the deficit to 3-1. Arsenal killed off any slim chance of a Palace comeback with Bukayo Saka scoring his second and Arsenal's fourth on 74 minutes.
The win sees the Gunners open up an 8 point gap over City. Ad a result, 888Sport now makes them 4/6 favourites to win the Premier League title.
City were involved in FA Cup action this weekend so had no leaguefixture. They completed a 6-0 win over Burnley, thanks in the main to another hat-trick from the irrepressible Erling Haaland.
Arsenal have 69 points from 28 matches. As for City, they've only played 27 matches, and have 61 points. That also puts them 11 points ahead of third place Manchester United.
