City still heavy favourites to Qualify for Champions League Final after Madrid 4-3 Thriller

Champions League semi-final 1st leg; Man City 4-3 Real Madrid.

A crazy night of football at the Etihad Stadium saw Manchester City complete a 4-3 first leg win over Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final.

Goals for City from Kevin de Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Bernado Silva, were countered by a Vinícius Jr solo effort, and a brace from the phenomenal Karim Benzema.

City may well lead the tie, but they had enough chances to have already put the tie to bed. Such was their dominance at times, the win must almost feel like a defeat for the current Premier League champions.

As for Real Madrid, I don't quite know what it is with them and this competition, this season. To say they've led a charmed life at times would be an understatement.

They've ridden their luck against PSG in the Round of 16. Should have been knocked out by Chelsea in the last 8, and now they have somehow left the Etihad just one goal behind in this tie.

It would be unfair to not mention that Madrid have fought back well in all these ties. But they've had huge slices of luck in all three rounds so far.

Is their luck set to run out in the 2nd leg though? Or is it one of those years where their name is perhaps already on the trophy?
