Arsenal's third defeat of the 2021/22 Premier League season has left manager Mikel Arteta the odds on favourite to be the first manager to leave his job this season.
The Spaniard is now just 4/6 with Betfair to go first. This follows on from the Gunners' third defeat in a row, a run that has seen them fail to score one goal.
So far this season, Arsenal have lost 2-0 away to Brentford, 2-0 at home to Chelsea, and now today, 5-0 away to Manchester City.
In fairness to Arteta, his side have just played probably the two strongest teams in the Premier League. But it's the manner of the defeats, along with losing to Brentford that is hurting the most.
The upcoming international break comes at a bad time for the Spaniard. If the club hierarchy get itchy feet, they now have a mini break to get a new boss in.
The unfortunate timing on the back of the awful start could spell bad news for Arteta.
