Sunday afternoon’s fix of football comes from Elland Road – here we look at Leeds V Arsenal (22/11/20), and my match prediction for these two unpredictable teams, is goals.
Leeds V Arsenal Preview
Well, what do you make of this fixture? Leeds are an up and down side, and who knows what to expect from Arsenal these days!
For Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have played an attacking style of football this season. This has led to plenty of goals for the Lillywhites, but has also led to his side conceding way too many goals.

Great for the watching spectators, but history tells us that teams who neglect their defence struggle in the English top flight.
Arsenal on the other hand are just a total enigma.
One week they keep things tight, and look like a side heading in the right direction….. then the next week, they look like an unorganised shambles, all over the place, and with no direction at all.
Last time out pre international break, Leeds lost 4-1 away at Crystal Palace. While Arsenal’s last result was even worse – losing 3-0 at home to Aston Villa.
I say it was worse because the Gunners were absolutely played off the field by Villa, and did well to only 3-0!

Leeds V Arsenal Odds
- Leeds 21/10 – The Draw 27/10 – Arsenal 5/4
- Over 2.5 Goals 3/4 – Under 2.5 Goals 6/5
- Over 3.5 Goals 9/5 – Under 3.5 Goals 4/9
- Both Teams To Score – Yes 4/7 – No 7/5
The bookies have Arsenal as odds against favourites at 5/4. Which is a decent price if you think the decent version of the Gunners are going to turn up for this one.
The problem is, that’s basically what you would be betting on – which Gunners are going to turn up?
With Leeds so open, if Arsenal manage to play to their full potential, I can only see one winner. How can you back Arteta’s men with any confidence though?
Goals is the answer
Moving onto goals betting, and for me, with two such unpredictable sides, the goals markets have to be the bet!
Over 2.5 goals is 3/4, and looks a reasonable shout. While over 3.5 goals at 15/8 looks good value.
Both teams to score also looks a fairly likely outcome, but I’m not sure about backing it at 4/7.
I wouldn’t be against putting both teams to score in a same game multi with something else though.
Leeds V Arsenal Prediction 22/11/20
Bielsa’s Leeds team have scored 14 and conceded 17 in 8 Premier League matches this season. While Arsenal have scored 9, and conceded 10, in their 8 matches.
With this in mind, and the style of play of both sides, I’m expecting an open match with – hopefully – a lot of goals. So I’m going for over 3.5 goals at 15/8.
