Arsenal V Aston Villa Preview

These two teams are neck and neck in mid table, but seemingly heading in different directions.

After a promising start, Dean Smith's Aston Villa have lost their last two matches, conceding 7 goals in the process. All of a sudden, the 7-2 win over Liverpool seems a long time ago.

The Gunners are more unpredictable than Man Utd

For Arsenal, they are almost more unpredictable than Manchester United. Ironically, the team Arsenal beat last time out.

So far this season, the Gunners have won three, and lost two. Trying to find a theme in their performances is impossible.

Of their four wins, two have come at home, with two away. The three defeats were suffered away at Liverpool and Man City, and at home to Leicester.

Arsenal V Aston Villa Odds

Arsenal 13/20 – The Draw 16/5 – Aston Villa 4/1

It's hard to argue with the odds on this match, and it's equally as hard to find any value.

Backing Arsenal at home against Aston Villa at 13/20 isn't great value, and could anybody confidently predict a Villa win here?

Quite frankly, any result is possible.

Both teams to score looks a good shout at 6/10. Villa are creating plenty of chances, so are always good for a goal. And they concede a lot as well.

Arsenal V Aston Villa Prediction 8/11/20

That said, Aston Villa all of a sudden look like a team on the wrong route to me. They have started to look more like what they are in their last two matches, a mid table team.

With this in mind, I'm going to take a punt on Arsenal in the handicap market.

Prediction – Arsenal to win at -1 on the Handicap @ 8/5 with Betfair

If I'm going to go for Arsenal, I'm looking for value. The Gunners are at home, and the chances are, if they are going to win, they will win with a bit to spare.

This is basically a gut feeling bet with a bit of value. As apart from Villa's ability to score and concede goals, there is little else to go on.

  1. Well, I couldn’t have called that match much worse. Will have to watch Arsenal moving forward, they look more unpredictable than Man Utd at the moment.

Despite the disappointing end, all-in-all, it was a decent few days for the tips though….
