Scott Parker leads Sack Race betting after latest Fulham defeat

The latest Sack Race betting from Betway (25/10/20) sees Scott Parker as the favourite after yet another Premier League defeat.

Fulham boss Scott Parker is the strong favourite to be the first managerial casualty of the Premier League season after his team’s 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Latest Sack Race Betting - Parker the favourite

Betway have Scott Parker as their 9/4 sack race favourite (as of 25/10/20), narrowly ahead of West Brom boss Slaven Billic – who is 11/4.

Previous favourite on the back of his side's 6-1 defeat to Spurs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds himself third in the betting, at 11/2.

Scott Parker just can’t get Fulham going

After six matches, Fulham sit bottom of the Premier League table with just 1 point.

The biggest problem for Fulham though seems to be that they just don’t look like getting a result.

There are sides at the bottom such as Sheffield United, who have the look of a team that knows a win is just around the corner.

That certainly can’t be said of Fulham, who don’t even look like they know where a goal is going to come from, never mind 3 points.

Parker is extremely honest in his after match interviews, and tells it exactly like it is.

His synopsis of the Crystal Palace defeat was pretty accurate. But the problem is, it starts to look like Parker is throwing his players under the bus.

Add to that Parker’s honest expression of disappointment in club owner Tony Khan’s apology to fans after the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Matchweek 3, and you start to see a strong case building against the former England midfielder.

Other Candidates breathing a huge sigh of relief

Two rival managers breathing a huge sigh of relief on Saturday evening would be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Frank Lampard.

A bad defeat for either of those two in yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Old Trafford would have really seen the pressure growing on either man.

And in fairness, both teams played in such a manner.

For Solskjaer, I expect the critics will be on his back again soon. His United team just don’t seem to be clicking this season.

There appears to be a missing ingredient, maybe Edinson Cavani could be the signing that fills that void.

As it stands, United are 25/1 to win the Premier League, while they are 6/4 for a Top 4 Finish.

Next up for United is a tricky fixture in the Champions League. They host current Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig at Old Trafford on Wednesday, Goli Sports have a full match preview, as they do for all big football fixtures.

While for Lampard, I think he will be very happy with his team’s back-to-back clean sheets.

Also from a Chelsea perspective, new signings Kai Havertz and Timo Werner don’t even seem to have found anything like their top form yet. Only showing glimpses of what they are capable off so far.

Given their undoubted quality, there is plenty more to come, and plenty for Lampard to look forward too.
