It’s Man Utd V Chelsea from Old Trafford this Saturday (24/10/20), and in my football betting tips, it’s fair to say I’m expecting this to be a close call.
Man Utd V Chelsea Tips – 24/10/20
Man Utd have won two from two since that defeat to Spurs.
The Red Devils host Chelsea on Saturday, and Frank Lampard’s side arrive at Old Trafford on the back of a much sought after clean sheet, after drawing 0-0 with Sevilla in the Champions League.
Man Utd V Chelsea Odds
In the football betting it’s a close call. Odds of 11/8 on United at home is a long price, and there’s a good reason for this.
United seem to struggle against teams who sit back, but unless Chelsea adopt slightly different tactics for this one, Solskjaer’s men shouldn’t encounter that problem in this match.
The Reds have also already lost at home to Crystal Palace and Spurs this season, so there will also be additional pressure on them.
United Have Bounced Back From Spurs Trouncing
Since their thrashing at the hands of Spurs, United have bounced back.
They started off with a 4-1 win over Newcastle last Saturday, this could have been all so different though.
Although United were the better team, the match was 1-1 until the 86th minute, and the knives were out for Solskjaer – at least on social media, they were!
If the Reds had failed to get those late goals and beat Newcastle, Solskjaer would really have been under the cosh.
United’s fortune continued on an upward curve with the 2-1 win away at PSG on Tuesday in the Champions League. Proving just how quickly things can turnaround in football.
For Chelsea, they’ve arguably had as equally up and down start to the season – albeit without the big thrashing!
So far this season Frank Lampard’s team have shipped 3 goals twice, one away at West Brom, and most recently at home to Southampton.

A Notable Clean Sheet At Last For Chelsea
To some, drawing 0-0 at home to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday was a bad result. I actually believed it was a great result for Lampard, as his team finally managed to keep a clean sheet.
This was Chelsea’s first notable clean sheet of the season. Their only other two came in the 6-0 win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup, and the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Man Utd V Chelsea Prediction
This is an extremely hard one to pick a winner from, it could go either way in my view.
Could these two sides cancel each other out as well? And is Chelsea’s clean sheet against Sevilla the start of a defensive revival for the Blues?
These are question we will find out the answers to on Saturday – and make picking a winner in this one, very difficult.
The draw is 13/5, with both teams to score and the draw coming in at 16/5. I think that looks much better value.
