It's been a pretty decent start to the season for Newcastle and Steve Bruce, and after what happened to Manchester United last time out, could this be the ideal time to be playing them?

Newcastle V Man Utd Tips – 17/10/20

At the beginning of the season I would imagine any Newcastle fan would be happy enough with 7 points from their opening four matches.

New signing Callum Wilson has also hit the ground running, with 4 goals in his 4 matches. Meaning all-in-all, it's been an impressive start to the season for the Geordies.

Newcastle V Man Utd Odds

Newcastle 15/4 - The Draw 10/3 - Man Utd 4/6

For Man Utd, where do you start? Well, despite writing in depth about all the things that seem to be going wrong at Man Utd, a couple of quick wins will soon put things right - for now.

And this is the sort of fixture you would prefer when you need a win.

For as well as Newcastle have done (by their standards), it's not like Man Utd are going to the Etihad or Anfield when down on their luck.

Newcastle V Man Utd Prediction

Man Utd to win @ 4/6 with Betfair

Odds of 4/6 aren't great on a Manchester United win, and I would advise caution if you're thinking of lumping on Ole's men.

Yes, I would put it in an accumulator bet, but maybe it's a touch short for a single.

Newcastle are poor

Newcastle were fairly appalling at home to Brighton when they lost 3-0 on Matchweek 2.

Their two wins have come away at West Ham when the Hammers didn't turn up, and they beat Burnley 3-1 at St James on Matchweek 4.

The Burnley match wasn't without incident, and on another day the Clarets would have left with something.

In short, without the goals of Wilson (which will keep the Geordies clear of the relegation zone), Newcastle aren't much of a side. And despite Man Utd's problems, I can still see Solskjaer's team winning this one.
