Nations League Tips 13/10/20

Both Spain and Germany are in action in Nations League Group A4 on Tuesday, and I believe both are good value for a tidy little double.

Not the greatest paying bet, admitted, but these two big guns both paying out at Evens in a double, is worth a punt.

Germany V Switzerland Prediction and Preview

The Germans have had defensive woes of late, and at times it seems something is not quite right with Joachim Loew's side.

Having said all of that, can I really tip anything other than a Germany win, when at home to Switzerland?

Yes, we've seen ridiculous results recently. Results like Villa's 7-2 thrashing of Liverpool, and Man Utd's 6-1 mauling at home to Spurs - proving there is no such thing as a sure fire winner in football.

Match Odds - Germany 1/2 - The Draw 18/5 - Switzerland 6/1

But odds of 1/2 on Germany at home is a rarity - and not to be missed.

There is a suggestion Timo Werner is not fit, but there was no guarantee he would play regardless. And with or without the Chelsea man, I can still see Germany winning.

Those odds can't also be a reflection on Switzerland's performances either. They currently sit bottom of the group with 1 point from their three matches.

In this international window they have lost 2-1 at home to Croatia in a friendly, and 1-0 away to Spain in the Nations League.

That said, the Swiss are now mixing with the top sides of Europe. And while they might not be beating them, they're far from been disgraced.

It's hard to see anything other than a Germany win though!

Prediction - Germany Win

Ukraine V Spain Prediction and Preview

I never like tipping heavy odds on shots, and especially when the team is away from home.

Ukraine's results of late haven't been good though - making it seem more worthwhile on this occasion.

So far in the Nations League, they have won one, and lost two. The win came at home against Switzerland (2-1) back in September, on MatchDay 1.

Since then in the Nations League, they have lost 4-0 away to Spain, and 2-1 at home to Germany.

Sandwiched in between those two defeats was a 7-1 thrashing to France in Paris last Wednesday.

And it was far from the strongest French team, although Didier Deschamps did introduce the likes of Pogba, Griezmann and Mbappe off the bench.

Match Odds - Ukraine 19/2 - The Draw 9/2 - Spain 1/3

For Spain, they have had a decent international break, if not spectacular.

Luis Enrique's team beat Switzerland 1-0 on Saturday, and now sit top of Group A4 with 7 points.

In their friendly away at Portugal last Wednesday, a largely experimental side managed a 0-0 draw.

Another positive for Enrique was finally getting Adama Traoré to play a competitive match for Spain - he came on as a substitute in both the matches against Portugal and Switzerland.

The Spanish born Wolves winger has Malian roots, and the Malian Football Federation had been in touch, to try and persuade him to play for the Mali nation team.

So all-in-all, a win over Ukraine will cap a decent week for the Spanish.

Prediction - Spain Win
