Matchweek 3 Preview – Saturday Premier League Fixtures 26/09/20

Our football betting tips for this Saturday's (26/09/20) four Premier League matches pays over 23/1 if you put them in an accumulator bet.

The star attractions on Saturday are Man Utd and Chelsea - both will be looking to bounce back with league wins against Brighton and West Brom respectively.

Brighton V Man Utd - 12.30pm

Crystal Palace V Everton - 3pm

West Brom V Chelsea 5.30pm

Burnley V Southampton 8pm

Also in action are Carlo Ancelotti's exciting looking Everton side (did I just write that), who travel to London to face Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace.

The day is then rounded off with Burnley hosting Southampton - along with ex striker Danny Ings - in the late kick off.

Probably not the ideal match Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would want after suffering such a disappointing set back last Saturday.

Graham Potter's team have started the season well. They can consider themselves unfortunate to get nothing at home to Chelsea two weeks back. And against Newcastle last weekend, Brighton cruised to victory.

Contrast that to United's sorry showing against Crystal Palace last Saturday, and it's hard to make a case for the Red Devils.

I do expect a vastly improved performance from United this time around. They looked rusty and off the pace losing to Palace.

They've got that performance out of their system now, and I expect they will be hungry to make up for that shocker.

I'm a bit torn on this one though, I can see Man Utd getting something out of the match, but I'm stuck between the draw and win.

VERDICT - Man Utd Win @ 7/10 with Betfair

Crystal Palace V Everton

Palace have had a start to the season that even their most biased and blinkered supporter could ever have imagined.

It was all doom and gloom to start with. Crystal Palace were (and still are) a lot of people's favourites for the drop. There doesn't look to be too many goals in the team, and there is the endless fear that star man Wilfried Zaha will leave.

So what happens? Palace go and take 6 points from their first 2 matches, including last week's 3-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Two wins obviously doesn't guarantees safety, but it does give Palace something to build upon.

The fixtures don't get any easier though, and Saturday's opponents, Everton, have had an equally as impressive start to the season.

The Toffees also have 6 points from 6, including a 1-0 win away at Spurs.

Everton's new signings seem to have hit the ground running, and dare I say it, things are looking promising for Ancelotti's team.

Everton actually look quite entertaining this season - there, I've said it.

From the perspective of both teams, it is going to be interesting to see how this match turns out.

A win for Everton could be the start of a serious challenge for a Europa League spot. While for Palace, a win would be another 3 points towards safety.

It already has the feel of a long hard season ahead for West Brom.

Baggies fans would have hoped for better than zero points from their first 2 matches, but can't be surprised that's all they've got.

More worryingly for West Brom, is the manner of the two defeats. They've leaked goals too easily in both matches, and haven't really looked like they belong at this level.

The one bright spot for West Brom this season has been the form of Matheus Pereira. The attacking midfielder from Brazil looks to be carrying the majority of their survival hopes on this shoulders.

For Chelsea, they were taught a lesson by Jurgen Klopp's side last week. The 2-0 defeat was a pretty routine win for Liverpool. They were helped out somewhat by the Blues in fairness though.

It's hard to see anything but a win for Chelsea in this one.

Burnley V Southampton

Zero points for both these sides so far this season. Burnley have one defeat from one - a 4-2 defeat to Leicester last Sunday. While Southampton have lost two from two.

Despite a heavy looking defeat for the Clarets at Leicester, they did have their chances to get back into the match when it was 3-2. But prior to that at 3-1, Leicester had plenty of chances to put the match to bed.

All-in-all, it was a strange performance from Sean Dyche's men. That said, they kept going until the end, as you would expect.

It's also been a strange start to the season for Southampton. They had their chances to get something from their opening fixture against Crystal Palace. On another day they may well have won the match.

In Danny Ings they have a goal threat, so I don't see relegation being a problem for Ralph Hasenhuttl's team. Ings missed a couple of chances against Palace on the opening weekend, but did finally find his scoring boots against Spurs last Sunday.

The Spurs match was another odds one. Saints had the better stats, possession, passing, shots on target, etc, but got thrashed.

Was it just one of those days? Maybe.

For those reasons, I can't call a winner in this one and think it may be a draw.
