Solskjaer’s United continue on relentless march towards Top 4

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Man United team continued on their relentless march towards a Top 4 finish and guaranteed

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Man Utd side picked up another 3 points against Aston Villa last night, and kept the pressure on the Top 4 in the fight for a guaranteed Champions League place next season.

United's 3-0 win at Villa Park was their fourth Premier League win in a row. Solskjaer's team have now won 4, and drawn 1, since the resumption of the season.

There's also a 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Norwich City included in their excellent run.

Solskjaer's team are just 1 point behind 4th placed Leicester City, with 4 matches each left to play. Despite being behind the Foxes in the league, United are ahead of them in the football betting for a Top 4 finish.

United seem unstoppable for a Top 4 finish

At the moment, United are 1/4 to finish in the leading quartet, with Brendan Rodgers' Leicester team at Even money. Also in the mix, are Chelsea, who are 2/9. With Wolves dropping 6 points from their last 2 matches, it's now 3 from 2, for the Top 4.

Since drawing 1-1 with Spurs in their first match after the resumption, United haven't had the trickiest of opponents.

Home wins against Sheffield United and Bournemouth are to be expected. And while away matches at Brighton and Aston Villa can't be taken for granted, United will come across far more difficult teams in the Premier League.

And while Solskjaer's team have been putting the lower Premier League teams to the sword, they have been greatly helped by Brendan Rodgers' team.

Leicester have only picked up 6 points from the 5 matches they've played since the resumption. The Foxes run has included a defeat to Everton, and draws with Watford and Brighton. Hardly the form of a Top 4 team.

United look to have the easier of the run ins on paper as well. On Gameweek 35, the Red Devila are at home to Southampton, which won't be easy, given the Saints' recent form.

Next up is an away fixture at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace on the 16th July. This is followed by a home match against West Ham on the 22nd, before an intriguing league finale on the 26th July, away at guess who?

Yes, Leicester City.
