Latest Premier League Betting as we review Tuesday’s MatchDay 34 fixtures

MatchDay 34 gets underway on Tuesday, and we review the 3 Premier League fixtures taking place. All 3 matches have something riding on them, at both ends of the Premier League table.

Welcome win for Spurs

But first, Tottenham's 1-0 win over Everton last night was the final Premier League fixture from MatchDay 32, and it was certainly a welcome 3 points for Spurs.

The win moved Jose Mourinho's team back above Sheffield United, and keeps them in the hunt for a Europa League place.

Every team in the Premier League has now played 33 matches, and they all have 5 more to go. A total of 15 points each to play for.

Today we see the first fixtures of MatchDay 34. There are 3 matches in total, and all 3 of them will have an effect on either the top or bottom of the Premier League.

Tuesday's Premier League Fixtures

  • Watford V Norwich (6pm)
  • Crystal Palace V Chelsea (6pm)
  • Arsenal V Leicester City (8.15pm)

Tuesday MatchDay 34 Review

Starting at Vicarage Road, and this is the last of last chance saloons for Norwich. Daniel Farke's team have lost all 4 of their Premier League matches since the resumption.

Norwich are now 7 points from safety, and if they lose to Watford tonight, it will be 10. There will only be 12 points left to play for after that, so Farke's team need to win tonight, just to give themselves an outside chance.

A more realistic way of looking at the match would be to say it represents a great chance for Watford.

A win in this one would see the Hornets open up a gap of 4 points between themselves and the relegation zone.

Watford currently sit 17th, just one point above Aston Villa and Bournemouth, who are both in the bottom 3.

Fellow strugglers, Villa and Bournemouth's next games are against Manchester United and Tottenham respectively.

So 3 points tonight for Nigel Pearson's team will really heap the pressure on their relegation rivals.

With home advantage, I expect Nigel Pearson's Watford to be too strong.

Next up, it's Crystal Palace at home to Chelsea.

Palace have lost their last 3, and in doing so have probably blown any outside chance of making the Europa League.

Currently on 42 points, Roy Hodgson's men have nothing left to play for now. It could be a long remaining 5 matches for the Palace fans.

Chelsea on the other hand need to win to keep ahead of Manchester United.

The Blues are just ahead of United in the league table, and also in the football betting for a Top 4 finish.

Frank Lampard's Blues did get back to winning ways against Watford over the weekend, but with United hot on their heels, they know they can't suffer any more setbacks.

It's hard to see anything but a Chelsea win in this one.

Crystal Palace V Chelsea Betting

Finally tonight, Arsenal V Leicester. Could tonight be the night Brendan Rodgers' team surrender the 3rd place they've held for so long now?

The Foxes form since the restart has been a disaster. They've picked up just 5 points from a possible 12, and have seen their comfortable buffer zone disappear.

As for Arsenal, after losing their first 2 Premier League matches back, things have picked up for Arteta's team.

The Gunners have now won their last 3 league matches, with decent away wins at Southampton and Wolves included in their run.

Not sure which way this match will go really. It's hard to see Leicester getting 3 points, but Jamie Vardy did rediscover his scoring boots last weekend. I'm getting a feeling for a draw in this one, maybe a bit of 1-1 in the correct score market.
