Quiet night for Football in Europe

It's a quiet night around Europe with not much football action from the elite leagues, with just the one top flight game in England, and Spain respectively.

In England, it's a mid table clash with possible Europa League consequences. While the fixture in Spain, sees the completion of MatchDay 32.

Premier League Football Betting - Crystal Palace V Burnley

On the surface, 10th V 11th in the Premier League doesn't sound the most appealing match. And with the exception of Wilfried Zaha, it's not the most exciting sounding match to watch on TV either!

Neither Palace or Burnley can go down, but there is a chance of Europa League football. This depends on who wins what cup, and the impending expulsion of Manchester City from Europe.

As it stands, 5th place in the Premier League, along with the winners of the Carabao Cup, and FA Cup, get the 3 Europa League spots.

Man City already have the Carabao Cup in the bag. Meaning the Europa League place reserved for the winners of the Carabao Cup, will be going to 6th place in the Premier League.

The four sides in the semi-finals of the FA Cup are Man City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

So there's a strong possibility that a team which qualifies for the Champions League could win the FA Cup. Meaning 7th place in the Premier League would then get a Europa spot.

Both sides sit just 3 points behind 7th placed Spurs, albeit on the same amount of matches. This gives them both an outside chance of Europa League football, should they put together a decent run in to the season.

Still with me? God knows what happens if City are banned from Europe, I'll leave that for someone else to explain!

La Liga Football Betting - Getafe V Real Sociedad

This is actually quite a big La Liga fixture with regards to Europa League positions in Spain. Both Getafe and Sociedad have struggled since the restart, and have Valencia and Athletic Bilbao now breathing down their necks.

Luckily for the stuttering pair, Valencia have been is as bad form. The same can't be said for Bilbao though, who have only lost 1 of their last 6, and that was away at Barcelona.

Getafe are still in the driving seat, currently sitting 6th in La Liga on 49 points. They have home advantage tonight, and sit 2 points clear of seventh placed Sociedad. Who occupy the final Europa League spot (7th place).

Valencia are in 8th on 46 points, and Bilbao are 9th on 45 points. A win for the home side would tonight would see them open up a nice buffer zone and also leapfrog Villareal and go into 5th position.

On the flip side, this looks like a game that Sociedad can't afford to lose.

Rest of Football Action from Europe

As well as the action in England and Spain, there is other leagues across Europe in action.

Benfica and Porto are both in action in Portugal, where there are 3 matches in total tonight. There is also action in Sweden, Turkey, Greece and Denmark.

While in England there is also the League 2 Play-Off final between Exeter and Northampton, with the match kicking off at 7.30pm, at Wembley.
