Premier League Tips – 3 points each for Leicester and Tottenham

Two matches for our English Premier League tips today, with Leicester hosting Brighton in the early kick off, and Tottenham taking on West Ham later in the evening.

Starting with Brendan Rodgers' Foxes first, and it's hard to judge exactly where they're at currently.

In normal circumstances, I'd say a point away at Watford was a decent result, but Leicester are 3rd in the Premier League. So these are not normal circumstances, meaning the result is probably 2 points dropped.

Leicester are first in action tonight, and along with Tottenham, are one of my Premier League tips today

So my dilemma with Leicester simply is, are they batting well above their average? Or are we about to witness a slow decline down the table, to a more realistic position? And the truth is, I'm not 100% sure.

A further 16 points from 8 matches guarantees Leicester a Top 4 finish. In truth, they probably won't need that amount, as Man Utd and Wolves will no doubt drop some points along the way.

It's a big week for Leicester, Chelsea are breathing down their necks, but they're at home to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Leicester know that these are a huge 3 points, especially with the possibility of Chelsea dropping points.

The second match in the Premier League today sees Tottenham taking on troubled West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

I really can’t see anything other than more trouble for the Hammers in this one. Spurs looked reasonable enough when drawing 1-1 with Manchester United last week, and should have too much for David Moyes’ men.

At the same time Spurs’ weren’t totally convincing, Manchester United were on top for long periods. But on the flip side, Spurs could easily have won the game.

I do believe Spurs will be a lot better for the 90 minutes football, whereas I’m not sure what Saturday’s result will have done for West Ham’s confidence. It certainly won’t have helped it.

West Ham shouldn’t be too disheartened by losing to Wolves though. In fairness, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team could quite possibly finish in the Top 4 this season, so losing to them is no disgrace.

The problem for the Hammers though is confidence and self belief. They already looked like a team with little of either, and Saturday’s result will only further compound that.

Tottenham V West Ham Tips

I really can't see West Ham getting much joy out of Spurs tonight. 4/6 on Mourinho's men looks a decent price to me, and I'm happy to be on Spurs at those odds.

Spurs are only 4 points off 4th and 5th place, and with Man City potentially banned from the Champions League next season, a place at the big table of European football isn't totally out of Tottenham's reach.
