The two main things to come out of Matchday 30 in our Bundesliga review, is that Dortmund are all but assured of a Champions League spot, and things aren't looking good for Werder Bremen at the bottom.
Werder In Bundesliga Relegation Danger After Matchday 30
With just 4 matches left, Bremen are now 6 points from safety, and 3 points from the relegation play-off place. They are now just 1/4 to be relegated from the Bundesliga. Düsseldorf are 5/6, with Mainz the outsiders at 9/1.
Having got themselves back into contention with 7 points from 3 matches, two home defeats in a week - to Eintracht Frankfurt (0-3) and Wolfsburg (0-1) - have left Bremen staring relegation in the face.
One Last Chance For Bremen
Werder probably have one last chance of giving themselves the opportunity to get out of trouble this Saturday. The boys in green travel to bottom of the table Paderborn, in what is now a must win game.
Two points to note going into this match. First, Bremen are away, and their 2 recent victories both came on the road. The second point it more worrying, Paderborn have been incredibly stubborn lately, drawing 4 of their last 5.
Directly above Bremen, Düsseldorf picked up a point at home to Europa League hopefuls, Hoffenheim.
On the whole, this looks like a decent point for Uwe Rösler's men, but with Mainz - the side directly above Düsseldorf - winning, it keeps them stuck in the relegation play-off position.
The Fight For Europa League Spots
As I already mention Hoffenheim picked up a point in their battle for a Europa League spot. With one of Borussia Mönchengladbach or Bayer Leverkusen all but guaranteed the first Europa League spot, there is only one left to fight for.
At the moment Wolfsburg hold that place. But they have Hoffenheim breathing down their necks, and Freiburg are hanging in there, making it a 3 horse race.
Dortmund Look Certain For Champions League
I think it was clear to see for all on Saturday evening that Borussia Dortmund realised the importance of their 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
The Black and Yellows looked edgy at times, and the significance of the match looked like it was playing on their minds.
The upshot of the 1-0 win is that Dortmund now only need 6 points from their remaining 4 matches to guarantee a champions league place. Although, with a far superior goal difference, 5 points would probably do it for them.
The surprise result of the week had to be Leipzig's 1-1 home draw with relegation certainties Paderborn. Julian Nagelsmann's team (can never write 'men' after his name) clearly weren't helped by Dayot Upamecano's first half red card.
In fairness to RB, it wasn't until the dying embers before bottom side Paderborn equalised. Leipzig also got a helping hand with the two sides directly below them - Mönchengladbach and Leverkusen - both losing.
Leverkusen's 4-2 defeat at home to leaders Munich saw a new Bundesliga record set. Bayern and German legend, Thomas Müller registered his 19th and 20th assists of the season in this match. A record in a single season.
This seen him go past the previous record of 19 assists, jointly held by Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg 2014/15) and Emil Forsberg (RB Leipzig (2016/17).
