Kylian Mbappé To Liverpool Rumours Persist

Despite all the recent reports linking Kylian Mbappé with Liverpool, the latest betting odds suggest that it's more likely Timo Werner will end up at Anfield this summer.

Kylian Mbappé Liverpool Rumours
Kylian Mbappé has been linked with Liverpool over the past few weeks

At the moment Mbappé is 3/1 to be at Liverpool at the start of next season, while Werner is just 4/9.

In football betting terms, 3/1 on Mbappé shows that punters aren't that confident they will be seeing the young PSG striker at Anfield this year.

Whereas, the 4/9 on Werner, suggests punters are pretty certain the German striker is heading Merseyside.

Mbappé took to social media earlier this week, in a move that was interpreted - by the media - as him saying he intends staying in Paris.

He didn't say he wasn't leaving Paris either though.

It's obvious that Mbappé wouldn't be looking to move for financial reasons. All his salary expectations will be comfortably met in France.

When it comes to ambitions and trophies is where PSG could struggle to hold on to Mbappé. He has won all the French domestic trophies worth winning, and already has a world cup winners medal to his name.

It goes without saying that Mbappé would want to add the Champions League trophy to his collection. And he may well see Liverpool as a more viable option when it comes to lifting Europe's premier club trophy.

Could A Transfer To Liverpool In 2021 Be More Viable For Mbappé?

The most consistent rumour that seems to be flying around is a transfer to Liverpool in 2021.

A lot of this speculation could originate from Liverpool officials (behind the scenes) attempting to position themselves as the front runners, should Mbappé make it clear he might be looking to move on 12 months down the road.

What is clear is if Mbappé does decide he wants a new challenge, there will be no shortage of suitors. He will have his pick of Europe's elite.

Assuming the Coronavirus Pandemic doesn't cripple football financially, he will be in position to take his pick from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and the high profile English Premier League clubs.
