Free Premier League Predictions

Saturday 31st August

Southampton V Man Utd - Away Win

The Saints put up a more than impressive show in their last home match, a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, but I don't see them beating United today.

The Red Devils are better suited to playing on the counter attack. They dropped points at home to Palace last weekend, but the Eagles came to defend. Southampton will take the game to United more, and with the pace of Martial and Rashford, etc, I expect United to get the 3 points.

Chelsea V Sheff Utd - Home Win

Frank Lampard's Chelsea are fast becoming my favourite team to watch in the Premier League. A young attacking side, dodgy at the back, they are very entertaining to watch. It's also great to see a young English manager given a chance at a big club.

Sheffield United have won, lost, and drawn their opening three matches. A position they would probably have happily accepted at the start of the season.

The bubble slightly burst in the home defeat to Leicester last Saturday, but it was always going to happen in the Premier League.

I can see the Blades scoring today, both teams to score could be a decent bet. But overall I can only predict a Chelsea win.

Crystal Palace V Aston Villa - Home Win

Palace had a great win last weekend, as did Aston Villa. To be honest, this match could go either way today, but I'm going for Palace.

The Eagles are at home, and Villa are inexperienced in the Premier League. A very tight call this one, but I'm playing safe with the home team.

Leicester V Bournemouth - Home Win

The Foxes are looking impressive this season, and I expect them to pick up another 3 points today. Leicester had a decent win away at Sheffield United last weekend, and they were very unlucky to only leave Stamford Bridge with a point.

I seem to remember writing on Week 2 that Bournemouth don't travel very way, and they went and won 2-1 at Villa Park. I'm sticking to that theory today!

Man City V Brighton - Home Win

Not really much I can say about this one, can anybody make a case for Brighton? City are 1/9, and I've seen 35/1 available on Brighton.

The only chance the Seagulls might have, is I imagine Pep might do a bit of rotating, and bring in some of the rubbish back up players he has. Donkeys like Mahrez, Jesus, Foden etc.

Newcastle V Watford - Draw

Could go either way this one, a very tough match to predict. Both teams are desperate for a win, both teams are at the bottom of the Premier League table, and both managers are already under pressure. A match neither side can afford to lose, which is why I'm going for the draw.

West Ham V Norwich - Home Win

Since the opening day thrashing at the hands of Man City, the Hammers have done well with 4 points from two away matches. A draw away at Brighton, was followed with an away win at Watford.

Norwich have started well with 3 points from their opening three matches. Their two defeats have been at the hands of Liverpool and Chelsea, nothing to be upset about there.

That said, I'm going for Premier League experience today, and expect the Hammers to come out on top.

Burnley V Liverpool - Away Win

A lot of pundits have noted that the Reds haven't started the season as fluently as they were last season, while it's been a decent start for Burnley, with 4 points from 3 matches.

It's still hard to make a case for Burnley, and it would take a very brave man to back the Clarets to pull off a shock victory today. I wouldn't totally rule out the draw, but this is the sort of match Klopp's team have to be winning if they are serious about winning the Premier League this season.
