Disastrous December for our free football tips

Disastrous December is over, and thank God for that. Our free football tips have had a nightmare run, but thanks to a great few weeks earlier in the season, they are still in profit (+23.89 Points at time of writing - 31st Dec)

Don't Back Against Wolves

For the third time this season, we've opposed Wolves, and every time we have lost. So a lesson needs to be learnt there.

The Spurs to beat Wolves tip on Saturday was made all the more frustrating, given the results of the two Manchester clubs on Sunday.

Unpredictable Results

I'm not sure if I should be kicking myself too hard though, as there have been some fairly unpredictable results throughout December.

I'm not sure who could have predicted Leicester winning at Stamford Bridge, or Wolves beating Spurs 3-1 at Wembley?

What with Man City losing at home to Crystal Palace, and away at Leicester, there must have been accumulator bets crashing everywhere throughout December.

Going back to the start of the month, we tipped Man Utd to win away at Southampton. The Saints had one league win all season, and Mark Hughes was under immense pressure to keep his job.

What happened? United were 2-0 down in the 1st half, I'm not sure any tipster could legislate for that. They did fight back for a 2-2 draw, but it wasn't enough to save us.

Method To Tips

There has been method to our tips though, and I can see why we have tipped some of the losing results we have had recently.

They're not daft tips, there are good reasons for giving these selections out. After all, we are using the same methods that were so successful earlier in the season.

Never the less, we are now back at where we were at the end of September, which is extremely disappointing.

Luckily we had 100% success with 5 winning tips back in October. While in September we got 5 out of 6 right, amassing a huge 34 points in one month alone.

Looking Ahead to 2019

I don't see the point in changing too much moving forward. To tear up the method after one bad month would be short sighted.

It is an experiment, and if at the end of the season we have lost, we will have a rethink for next season. For now, I believe it is more a case of trying to select our matches better.

When we're tipping goals to be scored, or a team to win on the Handicap, we try and look for home teams.

On the whole, if a big team is going to put someone to the sword, it generally happens on home soil.

Hence the Spurs to beat Wolves tip last Saturday, as opposed to Chelsea (away at Palace), or Man City (away at Southampton).

Yes, Manchester United would have been the better call in hindsight, but look at the form Spurs have been in.

They had just put 5 past Bournemouth, and 6 past Everton in their previous two meetings, so why wouldn't we believe they couldn't beat Wolves by more than one goal?

We hope you are enjoying following our tips, and hope that December hasn't put you off too much. Hopefully, 2019 will be a better year, and we can all take the bookies for a few quid more.

So too all our readers, we hope you keep the faith, and have a great new year!!!!
