In fairness, that is probably more down the vanity. Playing in the Europa League is not where the big boys want to be.
Especially in Liverpool's case, after reaching the final of the Champions League last season. Going out of the competition before Christmas would be a disaster.
More immediately for Klopp, and his team face Everton in the Merseyside Derby this weekend. The one saving grace is that it is at Anfield, so that gives Liverpool a major advantage.
