Well, who on earth seen that result coming in Italy tonight? I certainly didn’t. Little surprises me in football, but I was surprised to see Arsenal winning 2-0 away from home at AC Milan. Maybe it’s more of a reflection on Milan’s woes this season, that a turnaround in form for Arsenal.
In a funny sort of way, the ‘Anti Wenger’ brigade (and it seems to be growing by the days and hours), would have maybe believed that a good hammering in Italy might have put more pressure on the board to act, and maybe moved Wenger closer to the exit door this summer.
Despite the 2-0 win, Paddy Power and Befair both still have Wenger as the the 5/2 second favourite to be the next manager sacked (or to leave position). Wenger is still behind current favourite, Alan Pardew, who is 4/6 favourite, and seemingly hanging onto his job on a weekly basis.
Other manager’s odds in the sack race betting include No Manager To Leave before the end of the season at 9/2, with Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pellegrino, both at 6/1, and Everton’s Big Sam at sevens.
