Chelsea host Manchester United in the Premier League later today, and the smart money seems to be on another backs-to-the-wall defensive line up and performance, from the returning Portuguese.
Mourinho managed to shut out Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side at Anfield on Monday night, and the chances are he will employ similar tactics at the Bridge today, against Antonio Conte‘s Chelsea team today.
Even given the likely negative tactics from Mourinho, and the fact that he’s up against an Italian tactician – who may well prefer not to lose, rather than try to win the match today – I still fancy that this game won’t end 0-0. Even under Mourinho, it’s hard to see two Manchester United Premier League matches running ending 0-0.
In the Football Correct Score Betting, if you do believe that the match will be a goalless stalemate, then the 0-0 draw is 15/2 with bet365 – who offer money back (in cash) if your Correct Score, Half-Time/Full-Time or Scorecast bets (have to be placed pre match) lose, and if the match finishes 0-0.
bet365 make Chelsea the favourites at 5/4, with the draw at 9/4, and a Manchester United win at 13/5.
Of Chelsea’s four Premier League home matches this season, the Blues have won three and lost one (a 1-2 reversal to Liverpool back in mid September). Chelsea’s most recent home result was the 3-0 win over Champions Leicester City, with goals from Costa, Hazard and Victor Moses.
Manchester United have played away from home four times in the Premier League so far this season, with mixed results. They started off well with away wins at Bournemouth and Hull back in August, but since then they were soundly beat at Watford back in September, before Monday night’s 0-0 bore draw at Anfield.
