Despite drawing 0-0 with PSV Eindhoven earlier tonight, and now needing a win away at Wolfsburg to guarantee qualification out of their Champions League group, Manchester United are a best price of 8/11 with Skybet to qualify out of Group B and take their place in the Round of 16 in the Champions League.
United currently sit in second place in Group B (with 8 points), one point behind Wolfsburg, and one ahead of PSV Eindhoven in third place. PSV host bottom side CSKA Moscow in two weeks time, while United travel to Wolfsburg (both matches played on 8th December).
There are two scenarios for Manchester United. Win and they are through as group winners, 3 points will take them above Wolfsburg, and mean they also finish above PSV, no matter what the Dutch side do.
While if United don’t win, then it is out of their hands, as they need to match what PSV do in their final match. United can only overhaul Wolfsburg with a victory, meaning anything other than victory in Germany will open the door for PSV to overhaul them.
Despite being one victory (this weekend when they face League leaders Leicester) away from being top of the Premier League, United still seem far from convincing.
Wolfsburg currently sit in third place in the Bundesliga Table, so are clearly not a team to be taken lightly. A Manchester United team in full flow would probably get this job done, but this United haven’t really hit their straps for a while now.
If you are an optimistic United fan, they can be backed at 13/8 to win Group B. Wolfsburg are 4/6 to top the group, with PSV at 9/1. For the record, Wolfsburg are 1/6 to qualify, with PSV at 8/15 (as already stated, United are 8/11).
