Jose Mourinho claimed the quadruple was all but impossible to achieve, and although not a massively hard prediction to make, he was proven right as his Chelsea side were knocked out of the FA Cup on Saturday by Bradford City.
In all fairness to Mourinho though, when he made the prediction about the quadruple, I don’t think he was expecting to lose 4-2 to Bradford City in the FA Cup. He was probably more anticipating a possible Champions League exit to someone like Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The Bradford defeat has left the treble for Chelsea to go for. They are still in with a chance of winning the Capital One Cup, the Champions League and the Premier League, which would be an amazing feat should they achieve it.
The treble is now a best price of 14/1 with Coral, which on the surface doesn’t sound great value for money. But when you look at the fact that they are only 6/5 with Paddy Power (£50.00 Free Bet for new customers) to do the Premier League and Capital One Cup double, you will see why the treble odds are so short. To win the Champions League, the Blues are 15/2.
Odds on Chelsea to win selected trophies are…………
- Premier League, Champions League and Capital One Cup – 14/1 with Coral
- Premier League and Capital One Cup – 6/5 with Paddy Power
- Premier League and Champions League – 9/1 with Paddy Power
- Champions League and Capital One Cup – 11/1 with Betway
- Champions League – 15/2 with Skybet
- No trophies – 8/1 with Coral
