There’s another midweek round of Premier League matches this week, weather and tube strikes permitting… and of the 4 teams going for the title, Arsenal look to have the hardest task on paper, taking on Manchester United tomorrow live on TV.
The live TV match tonight is all about the other end of the league (from Arsenal, that is), a relegation scrap between Cardiff and Aston Villa.
Taking Villa’s last result against West Ham out of the equation (they lost 2-0 at home to Sam Allardyce’s men), and they haven’t been in to bad form.
They got a draw at Anfield (which given the thrashing Everton and Arsenal have just received there, is a very good result), narrowly lost to Everton and Arsenal, and beat West Brom in a thriller, but more importantly, coming back from behind to win.
Christian Benteke has found some form of late, and Paul Lambert will be hoping his good mood, sorry, I mean form, can see Villa to safety, before his next sulk takes hold.
Cardiff are coming off the back of a demoralising defeat away at Swansea, but must be buoyed by their recent fightback at home to Norwich, when they came from 1-0 down to win 2-1.
Even a victory for Cardiff tonight wouldn’t lift them out of the bottom 3, so it just shows how important this match is to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Chelsea are the only team in the top 4 playing tonight, they visit West Brom and will be looking to extend their lead (for 24 hours at least) at the top of the league. The best price on Chelsea tonight is 8/15 with BetVictor (£25.00 Free Bet).
West Brom are currently in the bottom 3 with Cardiff, partly down to the fact that they were robbed of 3 points at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season thanks to a more than generous late penalty award to Chelsea, but it’s hard to see them managing to administer any revenge tonight.
Chelsea are currently in top form, and Eden Hazard is flying. Hazard is a best price of 15/8 with BetVictor to score anytime tonight.
