A mixed weekend of results seen Arsenal lose the favourites tag to win the Premier League, after just one match.
The title race took more twists and turns over the weekend as the top 3 - leading into the weekend - all drop points, allowing Liverpool to jump back up to second place.
Arsenal lose favourites tag after just 24 hours
Arsenal briefly held the spot of joint favourites with Manchester City on Saturday evening, but that bookmaking honour soon left them (and returned solely to Manchester City) as they were held to a 1-1 draw by an impressive Everton side on Sunday afternoon.
Looking at the form of Everton, and the way that Martinez has got them playing, they are now looking like serious contenders for the top 4.
When Roberto Martinez took over, I thought that the natives should be happy with a season of consolidation as he inevitably tried to gradually change the style of play. Martinez seems to have transformed the style within a few months.

Assuming the Gunners lose that fixture, I believe it's how they respond to it that will show their true title credentials. Speaking of Manchester City, and their old foe - away form - came back to haunt them. Any backers of City for the league title must be tearing their hair out. They look like world beaters at home, and the away form is strange, to say the least!
Onto Chelsea, and I genuinely believed that they had turned turned the corner and found some consistency at last. So I really didn't see any sign of that result against Stoke coming. Looking at the highlights, the Chelsea defence looked hopelessly exposed on a couple of the goals.
Liverpool continue to pick up points in their own merry way. They are now consistently dispatching the teams they should be beating (apart from Hull last week).

Something they have struggled to do in the past. So far they haven't missed the injured Daniel Sturridge, but then with the form of Luiz Suarez, they're probably not going to.
As for Spurs, after their 2-1 victory over Sunderland, they now find themselves just 3 points behind second place Liverpool. This after been written off over recent weeks.
AVB now finds himself fourth favourite in the 'Next Manager To Leave Post' betting. Malky Mackay is the favourite at 7/2, with Big Sam and Chris Hughton not far behind. David Moyes is fifth favourite.
