A week’s online football trading profit of £4.60
Total Pre Match Trading profits to date is £173.08. My football betting bank now stands at £273.08 I started off the experiment with a betting bank of £100.00 and use around 75% of my available bank on my trades, which are all done pre match using Betfair.
Tried to be a bit more selective with my match choices after some of the previous weeks activities, and I also went back to trading the Over/Under 2.5 goals’ markets. Basically I came to the conclusion that I was just trading any game I could, as opposed to finding one with a gap in the market, or a market that I though could only go one way.
I have been too complacent (which is very dangerous in the world of football gambling) lately and just took it for granted that all I had to do was put a lay and a back bet up, and that they would both get matched giving me a profit.
Not a chance! Trading and gambling doesn’t work like that, and I know that as well as the next man.
I think sometimes I just get in to the mindset that there is potentially money to be made on every single football trade, when the reality is that that is absolute garbage.
I need to get in to the mindset that asks questions of every trade. How confident am I about this bet? Will the price move this way, or that way? Are the teams likely to be announced while I’m in the middle of the trade? Can I see any reason why placing this bet is risky?
I need to metaphorically start guarding my betting bank with my life, become a right Scrooge. Maybe things will start to move in the right direction then.
I expect the next few weeks to be a bit quieter on the football trading front. One reason is what I have eluded too above, so matches will be selected far more cautiously. And I will also be using my betting bank for cricket betting while there are a few Test matches being played, I may well have a couple of cheeky quid on the grand national – coming up in just over a couple of weeks – as well.
Any followers of this thread can rest assured though, it’s not going anywhere, I believe the system works, so I will be sticking with it.
