Champions League Betting

Real Madrid are just about favourites to win the Champions League, the bookmakers have them at between 2/1 and 5/2 to lift the trophy again. They are closely followed by Bayern Munich who are priced up at between 5/2 and 10/3. Expect all that to change if Barcelona can overcome AC Milan in their 2nd leg at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

The bookmakers clearly haven’t written Barcelona off just yet as they are third favourites to be European champions again, they can be backed at mainly between 5/1 and 28/5. I say ‘mainly’ as one layer has gone as short as 4/1 on the Catalans to lift the trophy, I certainly wouldn’t be taking that price!

Barcelona are 1/3 to win on the night (90 minutes), and are slightly odds against to qualify from the tie. AC Milan are around the 8/11 mark to qualify. I just think this one is way too close to call, either side qualifying wouldn’t surprise me, but 1/3 on Barca on the night looks as good a 1/3 shot as you will find.

If you want to get in to betting on the Champions League or just general football betting start now! There is just so much football coming up over the next few weeks, and it really is a bumper time with big games coming thick and fast at this time of the season.

There is plenty of value out there at the moment. For example a ‘not out of the question’ all German affair in the Wembley final is 14/1. The Champions League final is only at Wembley to celebrate the FA’s 150th Birthday, imagine the irony if there is an all German final. English football’s arch (footballing) enemy gatecrashing their moment in the limelight, I certainly wouldn’t rule it out, football can throw up these silly things.

For those who don’t live in the world of irony, a Real Madrid V Bayern Munich final is favourite at around 11/2 to 15/2. The second favourite is Real V Borussia Dortmund at 10/1, an all Spanish affair is third favourite at 11/1.
