I know I have recently written that I will be sticking to Trixie bets for the time being on my weekly selections, but after a rethink over the break for the international fixtures I have decided that I will simply pick what I fancy.
If there is two games – it will be a double, three games – a trixie or a treble, and so on, up to a maximum of four or five games.
The previous week I fancied Manchester United and Liverpool and only really threw Middlesbrough in to make it up to three teams for a Trixie bet. And what happens? Middlesbrough go and draw and ruin the bet.
This weekend nothing really jumps out at me from the Premier league, Everton/Villa, Stoke/Liverpool, Wolves/Tottenham, Norwich/West Brom, Fulham/Blackburn and QPR/Newcastle are all too tight to call for me.
I wouldn’t touch Chelsea at 8/13 away from home and Man City are way too short. Man Utd look a cert at Bolton, but last seasons away form was appalling from the Champions. So despite their unbelievable start to the season I’m going to leave them alone at a short price of 2/5 and wait and see how their away form goes for another fixture or two.
I am going to do a four team accumulator bet this weekend and as I expect Arsenal to finally get their season off to a start today, they will make up the first part of my bet. For my remaining selections I’m going abroad and have picked some so called bankers.
On top of Arsenal (1/3), I’m including Barcelona (2/11), Real Madrid (1/12) and Bayern Munich (1/6). The whole bet pays just a touch under Evens @ William Hill. It was a touch over Evens last night, but Arsenal, Barca and Madrid had all shortened before I decided to place the bet this morning. I only have £6.20 left in my account, so that will be the grand total of my bet.
Again, no get rich quick bet, I just don’t see these four not winning today (famous last words again) and I simply don’t see any great value with the majority of the starting prices this weekend.
As is the norm, I will look to trade certain games on
Good luck to everyone with all your bets this weekend.
