Avram Grant finds himself back as favourite to be the next manager to get the boot after the weekend’s results.
A mad couple of weeks has already seen bookies stop taking bets on Roy Hodgson and Chris Hughton. Then Roberto Mancini (3/1, 2nd Fav) got backed into favourite on Friday and now Grant is back at the head of the list at a best price of 9/4 with Sky Bet.
This market has been mad lately and is probably likely to change again this week if Manchester City get well beat by United. West Ham host West Brom on the same night and a defeat for the Hammers must surely mean the end is nigh for Grant.
Personally, I have always thought that there is more chance of Craig Bellamy being at Eastlands in January than Mancini, this would be a sort of payback for the Italian’s ridiculous decision to get rid of Bellamy and keep the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips.
It currently looks like a shootout between Mancini and Grant. Grant might not win this race purely on the basis that Gold and Sullivan are not hasty when it comes to changing managers, sadly for Mancini, he won’t be afforded such a luxury.
